Company

FMG is a Finnish company that develops, manufactures and sells high-quality municipal and road maintenance equipment. Our main markets are in the Nordic and Baltic regions, as well as in Ukraine.

The company was founded in 1989 under the name Lapinlahden Levypalvelu after the home village of the company´s founder Jarmo Hiltunen. The company’s activities began in a small workshop built in the founder’s farmyard to supply parts for the nearby forest machine manufacturer Ponsse. The company’s first product of its own was a lifting grab for forest usage following the acquisition of the trademark Rote. The company then went on to supply a complete range of Rote lifting grabs for various applications.

The next step in the company’s development was the addition of road maintenance equipment for agricultural tractors following requests from local contractors. This marked the beginning of the company’s current operations. In 1994 the company moved to larger facilities in the Parkatti industrial estate in Iisalmi.

In 1996 the company began working with Finnish tractor manufacturer Valmet (now Valtra), which significantly increased production of ploughs. The company’s product range also expanded to include other products for road maintenance, and in 2003 the company moved to a new factory at its current location.

In 2010 the company was renamed LLP Farm Machinery Group Ltd (FMG). This also marked the beginning of the company’s international expansion. The company introduced a series of major investments with a new ownership structure, new brand name and new markets.

FMG aims to maintain its focus on our main area of expertise in close collaboration with our customers and distributors.
